Commissions

Every commission is a collaborative process — an opportunity to create something personal, meaningful, and completely unique. Whether it’s a portrait of a loved one, a cherished pet, or a more imaginative piece that combines ideas, Jen works closely with each client to bring their vision to life.

From the initial conversation to the final artwork, Jen guides you through each step — discussing ideas, selecting materials, and refining the design to ensure the finished piece reflects exactly what you had in mind. Whether you have a clear concept or just a feeling you want to capture, her experience and creative approach make the process easy and enjoyable.

If you'd like to explore a commission or chat through possibilities, Jen would be delighted to hear from you.

1

design and ideas

It all starts with your vision. Whether you know exactly what you want or just have a rough idea, we’ll chat through your preferences — subject, style, materials, and size. I can work from photos, combine different images, or help bring a more imaginative concept to life.

2

creation

Once the details are finalised, I’ll begin the artwork. Throughout the process, I’ll keep you updated with progress photos so you can see your piece take shape. Depending on the medium, this stage can take anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks.

3

delivery

When your artwork is complete, I’ll arrange safe delivery or collection. Digital artworks are sent as high-resolution files ready for printing, while physical pieces are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.

You’ll receive a one-of-a-kind, finished piece ready to enjoy.

Watercolour

Watercolour offers a soft, fluid finish with delicate colour layering and subtle transparency. Ideal for portraits, animal art, or nature-inspired pieces. These typically take 1–2 weeks, depending on complexity. Watercolours are traditionally done on high quality watercolour paper, common size is A4.

Acrylic

Acrylic is a versatile, fast-drying medium with vibrant colour and strong texture possibilities. It’s great for bold, modern pieces or detailed work with a clean finish. Acrylic works typically take 2–4 weeks and are often done on canvas, with popular sizes ranging from 30x30cm to 50x70cm, though sizes can be tailored.

colour pencils

Coloured pencil pieces combine precise detail with soft, layered colour, creating realistic yet gentle portraits or animal studies. These artworks usually take 2–3 weeks, depending on detail, and are typically done on A5 or A4 high-quality paper, though custom sizes are possible.

Pencil

Pencil drawings offer clean lines, fine detail, and striking realism in classic black and white or greyscale. Ideal for portraits, studies, or animal sketches. These usually take 1–2 weeks, created on high-quality paper. Standard sizes are from A6 to A3, with larger options available on request.

Oil paint

Oil painting is known for its rich colour, depth, and classic, timeless finish. With slow drying times, oils allow for detailed blending and refinement. These pieces usually take 8-10 weeks, including drying time. Canvases commonly range from 30x40cm to 60x90cm, but larger, statement pieces can be arranged.

digital

Digital portraits and illustrations offer crisp, polished finishes with limitless creative possibilities — from realistic to stylised. Digital commissions take 1–2 weeks and are delivered as high-resolution files suitable for printing in a variety of sizes, most commonly A4 to A2, but scalable to your preference.

"My mum's breath was taken away by Jen's painting. My brother took photos of it. Both couldn't believe how well she had done it. Thank you so much!"
